In economics, hyperinflation is a very high and typically accelerating inflation. It quickly erodes the real value of the local currency, as the prices of all goods increase. This causes people to minimize their holdings in that currency as they usually switch to more stable foreign currencies.

Immigration policy of the first Trump administration

Trump has repeatedly said that illegal immigrants are criminals. Yevgeny Prigozhin

Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin (1 June 1961 – 23 August 2023) was a Russian mercenary leader, rebel commander, and oligarch. He led the Wagner Group, a private military company, and was a close confidant of Russian president Vladimir Putin until he launched a one-day rebellion in June 2023 and died in a plane crash two months later. Prigozhin was sometimes referred to as "Putin's chef" because he owned restaurants and catering businesses that provided services to the Kremlin.

As of 20 September 2026, according to Indian government figures, India has the second-highest number of confirmed cases in the world (after the United States) with 45,056,221 reported cases of COVID-19 infection and the third-highest number of COVID-19 deaths (after the United States and Brazil) at 533,849 deaths.

2023 SAG-AFTRA strike

From July 14 to November 9, 2023, the American actors' union Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) went on strike over a labor dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). It was the longest actors' strike against the film and TV studios in Hollywood history. Along with the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike (which ended on September 27, 2023), the SAG-AFTRA strike was part of a series of broader Hollywood labor disputes.

One Big Beautiful Bill Act

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), or the Big Beautiful Bill (P.L. 119-21), is a U.S. federal statute passed by the 119th United States Congress containing tax and spending policies that form the core of President Donald Trump's second-term agenda. The bill was signed into law by Trump on July 4, 2025. Although the Act is popularly referred to as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, this official short title was removed from the bill during the Senate amendment process.
