Facial recognition system

Facial recognition systems are applications that use algorithms to compare facial images or representations to verify an identity or to identify a person from a set of known identities. One-to-one verification compares a facial image to a reference image that is linked to a claimed identity. One-to-many identification is a search of an image against a database to determine if the image matches a database ID. Development on similar systems began in the 1960s as a form of computer application.
